I loved this movie. I was nervous because after last year’s Academy Awards I watched Slumdog Millionaire, ready for the best movie ever. Though I thought it was really well done and I really liked it, as much as I hate to admit it, I was disappointed after all the buildup. The Hurt Locker was anything but a letdown, and I’m SO glad I watched it.
SO GOOD. I have yet to see Avatar, but this totally deserved to win Best Picture, and I’m glad it did. It was a good story with enough personal development to make the characters seem real, enough tension to keep things exciting, enough plot to keep you guessing, and enough relevance to get you (me, at least) on the edge of your (my) seat. It’s refreshing to see and know that a big movie with flashy effects and a big-studio budget won’t (and didn’t) win over a movie with a (In my opinion) superior story and plot. This is a movie I would see again in a heartbeat.i’m sure there was plenty that I missed.
