Sometimes I wonder why this album is what made Kings of Leon popular. It’s not a bad album by any means, but it just doesn’t live up to their previous work. I don’t really think it’s any more pop-y or mainstream either, so I don’t understand why this had to be the album to make people be like, “oh Kings of Leon? Yeah, I really like that Use Somebody song.” I’m not trying to sound pretentious here. I’m just really curious as to who dictates when a band becomes popular. I guess I should just stop complaining, and appreciate the fact that I can hear them on the radio if I so desire.
